LEED & Commissioning
Allegheny Design has continuously found ways to better our environment through project development. Whether specifying energy efficient equipment, or sustainable design, which is more Safe and Economical for our communities; we continuously strive to uphold the highest certification as possible. In doing so, projects need to be planned accordingly. This is where Mike Chancey LEED AP and David Cotton LEED AP play a critical role in the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design program.
The LEED rating system, developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), is the foremost program for buildings, homes and communities that are designed, constructed, maintained and operated for improved environmental and human health performance. A building can achieve certification under the LEED program after undergoing a technically rigorous process, including the incorporation of green strategies to achieve efficiency and healthy indoor environments.
ADS engineers apply green strategies used in various aspects of design and construction broken down by the LEED categories:
- Sustainable Sites
- Water Efficiency
- Energy & Atmosphere
- Materials & Resources
- Indoor Environmental Quality
- Innovation in Design
- Location and Transportation
This project is the Second LEED V3 BD+C: New Construction, certified level Gold project in the state of West Virginia and the First Privately Owned LEED V3 BD+C: New Construction Gold Level Certification in the state of WV
